Pedro Fernández de Ovando

Don Pedro Fernández de Ovando (or de Fuencalada) (Fuente Encalada (or Fuencalada) – 1184) was a Spanish military and nobleman.

Pedro Fernández de Ovando, native of Fuente Encalada (or Fuencalada), place of the Bishopric of Astorga, was a son of don Fernando Joanes de Ovando, 1st Duke of Limia and wife. He was First Master of the Order of Santiago in 1171 and died in the year of 1184, being buried at the Church of San Marcos de León.[1]

He married doña María de Azagra and they lived at Fuente Encalada. Their first born was don Rodrigo Pérez de Ovando, 1st Count of Ciudad Rodrigo, and their second son was don Hernán Pérez de Ovando.
