Pedro A. Vizcaino Martinez was born in Havana, Cuba, in October 11, 1966. Since 1993 he resided in Miami, Florida, U.S.A. He develops the Painting, Drawing, Performance and Assamblage. Since 1977 to 1981 he studied in the Escuela de Bellas Artes San Alejandro, Havana, Cuba. And between 1981-1985 in the Instituto Superior Pedagógico "Enrique José Varona," Havana, Cuba.

[edit] Individual Exhibitions

He had many exhibitions among them we can quote "Pedro Vizcaíno/Pedro Alvarez". Casa de la Cultura de Plaza, Havana, Cuba, 1987. In the next year he presented his works "Pequeña muestra personal". Galería El Pasillo, Instituto Superior de Arte (I.S.A), Havana, Cuba. In 1989 he exhibited "Primera Exposición Personal de Pedro Vizcaíno" , Centro Provincial de Artes Plásticas y Diseño, Havana, Cuba. [curated jointly with groupe ABTV). And in 1992 his works were exhibited in "Neo Pop" , El Sax, Mexico City, Mexico.

During his life he had presented many performance, among them we can mention "Muro meditar" Plaza de la Revolución, Havana, Cuba, 1989. In this year he made "La comunicación en el arte" Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (UNEAC), Havana, Cuba. And also presented "La plástica cubana se dedica al beisbol" [collective performance] Círculo Social Obrero (CSO) "José Antonio Echevarría," Havana, Cuba. In 1990 he made "Arte Calle en concierto", Casa de las Américas, Havana, Cuba.

He was part of many collective exhibitions like Expo Club UNESCO. Casa de la Cultura de Plaza, Havana, Cuba, 1986. And some of his images formed part of "Suave y fresco". Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana, Cuba. In 1990 he was part of the "Una Isla Llamada Cuba". Gíornate della Cultura Cubana ,Istituto Italo Latinoamericano, Rome, Italy. In 1992 he participated in the Fifth Triennial of Drawing. Miejska Gallery, Wroclaw, Poland. In 1995 his works were selected to conform "Children Without a Country" , Fredrick Snitzer Gallery, Coral Gables, Florida, U.S.A.

During his life he had obtained various awards ,among them we can quote the Painting Mention . Concurso "13 de Marzo," Galería L, Havana, Cuba, 1991. In this year also gained the Painting Mention . Salón de la Ciudad, Centro Provincial de Artes Plásticas y Diseño, Havana, Cuba. And in 1992 he obtained the Prize Fellowship Mexico City, Secretaría General de Desarrollo Social, Mexico City, Mexico.

His works can be found in the Galería Nina Menocal, Mexico City, Mexico. And his works also conform part of the permanent exhibitions in the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana, Cuba.
