Pecos Valley Southern Railway

The Pecos Valley Southern Railway (AAR reporting marks PVS) is a short-line railroad headquartered in Pecos, Texas.

PVS operates a 29.3 mile line from Saragosa, Texas to an interchange with Union Pacific at Pecos. The line generally parallels State Highway 17.

PVS traffic generally consists of sand, gravel, and barite ore.

The line was opened on May 1, 1910 between Pecos and Toyahvale, Texas (a distance of 40.1 miles). The segment between Toyahvale and Saragosa was abandoned in 1971.

From 1927 to 1946 PVS was controlled by the Texas and Pacific Railroad (now part of Union Pacific).
