Pecola

Pecola is a Japanese CGI anime series with cube-shaped anthropomorphic animals in a place called Cube Town. The show stars a curious and hyperactive penguin called Pecola who lives in the town, who tries to help the people of Cube Town, but instead wreaks havoc. The series aired on Cartoon Network in 2003, for 26 episodes. It was produced by Nelvana and Milky Cartoon.

The TV series has also been shown on TV Tokyo in Japan, Teletoon in Canada, YoYo TV in Taiwan, and qubo in the US.

  • Pecola - A penguin that brings excitement to the otherwise dull and boring town. Unlike his fellow penguins, Pecola cannot swim.
  • Coco - A penguin that likes to sing, but sings badly. Also known as Pecola's rumoured love interest.
  • Dr. Kamikutta / Professor Hornbender - An astronomer.
  • Mr. Puggalski - A dog, specifically a pug. He owns a grocery store, and was descended from a former king of Cube Town(Episode: Prince Puggalski).
  • Rabi/Robbie - A nervous Rabbit who likes video games.
  • Little Chu/Chewy - A mouse. Son of the great inventor Dr. Chu, and Pecola's best friend.
  • Mayor Papazoni - A mayor who make long and boring speeches that put everyone to sleep. Papazoni also has access to secret tunnels hidden all over Cube Town, which were used whenever he was pressured to answer the citizens in Cube Town.
  • Steam / Stim / Steamer - A train mechanic who is liked by Chewy and Pecola (much to Coco's distaste).
  • Gazelle- A gazelle. Hillary's boyfriend.
  • Bongo - A gorilla who loves to exercise.
  • Jabatt, Bashatt - The turtle brothers that guard the fire station.
  • Srally / Hillary- A giraffe with a Valley Girl accent.
  • Mrs. Bernard - A dog that works in a bakery.
  • Miss Lucky - Cube TV reporter.
  • Dr. Chu - A mouse. An inventor.
  • Gao / Rory - A lion. A mail deliverer.
  • Golagola - A sea creature.
  • Robo-Pecola - Dr. Chu's robot, almost identical to Pecola. In every episode it appears in, Robo-Pecola is damaged, but not repaired.
  • Mr. Saruyama - A fruit vendor who pays close attention to his melons. A running gag is that Pecola is always knocking his melon's down.
  • Mr. Lonely - A lone wolf, literally. Lonely is often seen in park and make depressing poems.
  • Alligetao / Al A. Gator - An alligator. A mysterious traveller who takes pictures by day, and leave town at night.
  • Auntie Yorkshire - A pig who is busy doing houseworks. Pecola enjoys swinging on her clothesline.
  • Officer Kumada- a police man
  • Tsunekichi / Rudy- Pecola's friend who says "I knew that" a lot.
  • Cori - A squirrel that works in the Cori's Cafe.
  • Gramps- A Penguin. Pecola's Grandpa who goes on adventures.
  • Pecola was an art rock band from Toronto Canada at the end of the 90's. They released a 7 and 12 inch on Teenageusa recordings and a CD on Kosherrock records.
