Peckham's is the trading name for a chain of specialist grocery stores owned by Peckham & Rye Ltd and with branches throughout central Scotland, particularly in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The stores stock a variety of different products, usually focused upon a delicatessen and an off-sales area offering a large number of wines, spirits and other drinks. Other grocery and non-food items (such as flowers) are also available in many of the branches.
[edit] History
In 1982, Peckham's first opened their doors to fill the gap between items not available in Scotland. Almost 20 years later, it now stocks items that many normal supermarkets would not.
It was also part of their initial ethos to be late-opening, with most stores opening until eight or ten o'clock in the evening and a good number remaining open until midnight, subject to local licensing conditions.
[edit] Branches
Peckham's only operates at present within Scotland, specifically in the Strathclyde and Lothian areas in the central belt:
- Glasgow (five stores)
- Edinburgh (three stores)
- Lenzie
- Stirling
- Newton Mearns
There is also a Peckham's café located within Glasgow Prestwick Airport
