Hi Musaabdulrashid,

As far as I am aware, the graphic you are refering to is fine for use on Wikipedia, as I emailed The Epping Forest Pipe Band to ask if I could use it. How can I prove this?

Thanks

[edit] Please do not vandalize

Don't vandalize the Waterfall model article. It's a funny mnemonic, but it sadly doesn't belong on Wikipedia, sorry! --OMouse (talk) 17:24, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:EFPBlogo.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:EFPBlogo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:48, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Also I have noticed that you've been creating articles lately that do not meet Wikipedia's style and quality guidelines. Before diting further you should take a look at Wikipedia:Tutorial and Wikipedia:Manual of Style.Tainter 14:55, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the help Tainter, will do

[edit] Repost of Reading University Students' Union

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Reading University Students' Union, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Reading University Students' Union was previously deleted as a result of an articles for deletion (or another XfD)

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Reading University Students' Union, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit] Notability of The University of Reading Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Film Society

A tag has been placed on The University of Reading Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Film Society requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. — mholland (talk) 11:46, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed deletion - List of Reading University Societies

[edit] List of Reading University Societies

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article List of Reading University Societies, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. Eve 19:01, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi, you asked on my talk page why I proposed this for deletion. Basically the content seemed to have been copied and pasted directly from the list on the RUSU website. So in addition to being a possible copyright violation, it didn't really add anything that a link to the RUSU page wouldn't provide. Plus I wasn't really convinced about notability - the list seemed a rather pointless thing to have on Wikipedia (although that is only a personal opinion, I'm quite willing for people to disagree with that, hence prod rather than speedy deletion). Since you seem to have had other things deleted too, you might want to take a look at Why was my page deleted? and the Notability guidelines. I'm going to be away now until the end of December, but feel free to ask at the Helpdesk if you have more questions. Eve 09:52, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of The Seven Dwarfs

A tag has been placed on The Seven Dwarfs requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] Move of David Tennant

Please discuss any potential article moves on the talk page before performing them, especially one's that could rove controversial. As in this case, David Tennant is known to the world David Tennant, and everything bout him that is notable, lists him as David Tennant. Therefore that is what his page should be called, regardless of his birthname. Also, for future reference, redirecting does not properly move a page, as it irradicates the entire history of the original page. The "move" function at the top of the page is the best way, although please make sure it is discussed beforehand. Thanks, Gran2 21:15, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:BandLogoBotom.GIF

Thanks for uploading Image:BandLogoBotom.GIF. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 20:03, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
