If Peach Melba was invented in London, doesn't that mean that it isn't a "classic French dessert", even if the inventor was French? CLW 13:01, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Escoffier was clearly French and cooked in a French style. That means he made the dish in a French style as well. Escoffier is the creator of the codified haute cuisine style of French cooking which is still used as a base for all French cooking today, so the dish is clearly French.--Christopher Tanner, CCC 14:22, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
