"Pearl Necklace" is a song by ZZ Top from their 1981 album El Loco. The song was released as the second single from the album and went to #28 on the Mainstream Rock charts in 1981. The song centers on a double entendre - it has nothing to do with an actual necklace, but rather a sexual act called the "pearl necklace," as stated in the lyrics "And that's not jewelry she's talkin' about" and "she was gettin bombed and I was gettin blown away."[1]. The song's intro shows a distinct inspiration from The Police's song, "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da," which was released just a year earlier.
