[edit] Summary

An image of the peace monument of Karlstad, erected 50 years after the dissolution of the union between Sweden and Norway. I shot this photo on the centennial day, which explains the Norwegian flags.

The inscription beneath the statue reads; "feuds feed folk hatred, peace promotes people's understanding". The statue itself is nicknamed the "Ugly Statue" by the people of Karlstad.
