- This tag means "this is both PD-US, and it is also PD in countries which require 50 years past death." It should be more clear but it is not nonsense; it is an attempt at internationalization.--Fastfission 20:25, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

- American non-acceptance of the rule of the shorter term may make some works tagged this template copyrighted in the USA even if already PD in their source countries. If this is the case, we would have to claim American fair use as well.--Jusjih 22:09, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
