[edit] History
The emulator was first released for the PC on August 31, 2000. Official development ceased on September 17, 2003 and development shifted to the new Playstation 2 emulator, PCSX2.
PCSX-df was created to add new feature and correct some bugs on 2006.
[edit] Features
PCSX features support for network play and for external plugins as used by ePSXe. Additionally PCSX seeks to simulate the functionality of the Sony PlayStation BIOS and consequently does not require a BIOS file dump to operate.
[edit] Ports
- Microsoft Windows
- Mac OS X
- Linux
- Sega Dreamcast
- Xbox
- Geoff's Game System
[edit] Compatibility
PCSX has a typically high compatibility rate, comparable to that of ePSXe. If a game doesn't work or has issues, the consensus is usually "fix it yourself" due to PCSX being open-source and also discontinued.
