PBS Kids Bookworm Bunch was a three-hour Saturday morning lineup of shows produced by Nelvana and based on the popular children's books George Shrinks, Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse (now airs on the 24-hour qubo channel), Elliot Moose, Seven Little Monsters, Timothy Goes to School, and Corduroy. The block premiered on September 30, 2000. PBS Kids started the Bookworm Bunch to compete against Nick Jr. on CBS. On Sat., Sep. 29th, 2001, it was cut to two hours, with Corduroy and Elliot Moose being cancelled. PBS Kids closed the book on The Bookworm Bunch in 2004, making way for Thomas and Friends and new shows scheduled to air for October.
Seven Little Monsters and George Shrinks were the only shows that survived. However, Seven Little Monsters was discontinued several weeks later (after in the half hour time period as The Berenstain Bears), but George Shrinks was the only show survived, reruns of it air now, on some stations.
