Description
  • Français : boîte à lettres de Tipperary repeinte en vert aux couleurs d' An Post depuis l'indépendance en 1922 mais portant encore les initiales VR de la Reine Victoria
  • English: erected sometime during the reign of Queen Victoria (1837 - 1901) it bears the initials "VR" : this is known as the "Royal Cypher" and is Latin for "Victoria Regina" or Queen Victoria. On gaining independence from Britain in 1922 the post boxes were repainted green instead of their original red

    NOTE: This pillar box has been repaired as evidenced by the raised welds on the door.
