Attack pages?
I don't know what exactly as those so-called "attack pages." I don't think I'm making them. What I was doing was giving a small segment it's own article. Some other users like the small segments in articles that they decided to create one for those. -Giraffeboy-
Templates
I would appreciate it, if you have any further comments on my actions, that you address me personally before posting a template on my talk page. I find your template particularly spiteful in light of the recent updating of the templates page, which you will notice I would not have seen before posting my last warning. Please be a little more tolerant and tactful in future. Thanks. Whiskey in the Jar 22:15, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, I was posting while inebriated and may have overreacted. Thanks for the heads up, it is appreciated, I'm just used to seeing templates on the pages of vandals, guess I took it badly! Thanks anyhow, sorry for being a little sharp, and happy editing! Whiskey in the Jar 05:15, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Signature
Please do not transclude pages in your signature. Either substitute the template when saving or place the contents of the template into the "signature" box in your preferences. From the signature policy:
Transclusions of templates and parser functions in signatures (like those which appear as {{User:Name/sig}}, for example) are forbidden, because the developers have determined them to be an unnecessary drain on the servers. Transcluded signatures require extra processing--whenever you change your signature source, all talk pages you have posted on must be re-cached. Signature templates are also vandalism targets, and will be forever, even if the user leaves the project. Simple text signatures, which are stored along with the page content, use no more resources than the comments themselves and avoid these problems.

Sorry about not using preview
It's just as I was editing this page I kept getting conflicts by the time I was done, and I was afraid I would lose all my edits (due to an FF crash, which happens to me because of Yahoo! Mail). Is there any way to save your edits temporarily and then post them at once? (There's the FF "Save Text Area" extension, but it's difficult to use and it's also vulnerable to a system crash.) I'll also put in edit summaries as well, but right after the original main post, I was mostly inserting and editing citations. Thanks though - and I hope that all my references on the Colbert page help to stem the vandalism - no one seems to have gotten the joke that he played on them (almost everything was already in Wikipedia). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tkandell (talk • contribs) 04:43, May 26, 2007
Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 18:42, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Hey thanks for the tip - still getting the hang of it :) --Jenkinsp 17:06, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
DANFS / WP:SHIPS
Thanks for cleaning up the DANFS category. It sure made my watch list interesting....
Any chance of going back through the same list and adding {{WikiProject Ships}} to all those talk pages? Or at least the articles that start with "USS" as I see you hit some navy bios too. Articles starting with HMS and SS are likely candidates for the same project banner. If filtering on just USS, you might want to eliminate articles that contain NCC or NX, which would indicate a Star Trek reference. If so, the full string {{WikiProject Ships |class= |importance= |nested= }} would make it easiest for future editors. Perhaps a safer way to add them is to drill down through the ship categories. I think you could start at Category:Ships.
Thanks, --J Clear 00:29, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response. Should be interesting to see how many articles fall under WP:SHIPS. I suspect tagging USS and HMS will account for a large percentage. I was looking at Category:Ships, and there's some obvious items not to tag right at the top (e.g. Category:WikiProject Shipwrecks participants), so I hope you don't have too much trouble setting up the filter. If any of the other sub categories seems to have too many false positives, leave a note at WP:SHIPS about which and we'll do it manually. I look forward to my watch list being blitzed again. ;-) --J Clear 16:29, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

- I'm not certain how you set up your bot, so this may be hit or miss. I'd start with Category:Ships and drill down it's sub-categories (don't know if that's an automatic option), except the one noted above. I wouldn't be surprised if that expands to a couple thousand articles, the USN and RN have had a lot of ships. I'm assuming the bot is smart enough not to re-add the template if it's already there, or we're in trouble to begin with as 1500 are tagged already and ships fall into multiple categories. Other possible searches were mentioned above. Without knowing much about programming wikibots, I'm not sure I can advise you futher. I'm going to be away for a few days, please use Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ships for further questions on what a "Ships" article is. Also I'm not expecting a perfect job (too many exceptions), just trying to get the bulk of the obvious ones tagged. --J Clear 18:11, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

PbBot
Two of my watch pages have been edited by PbBot human branding and Edmund the Martyr. It seems to me that the notice about the article conatining text from Encyclopedia Britannica should appear at the head of the article not head of the talk page for the article. This may not be the norm (my excuse is I am new here) but surely people may miss the talk page once they have found the information they are after. Thanks Edmund Patrick 10:59, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
PbBOT and 1911
thanks for the prompt reply, my confusion was compounded by the template 1911 and template 1911 talk pages which say Please do not remove the This article incorporates text from the Encyclopædia Britannica Eleventh Edition, a publication now in the public domain. template from the article page. This is what had happened. Still learning thanks for the patience.Edmund Patrick 18:03, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Erik Frasca Page
The page on Erik Frasca should not be deleted because it shows the importance of my life and since their is so much knowledgeable information in it, it can help people understand about me and what I have accomplished as a person and as a man.

Paul Harris (basketball)
There is a user that keeps vandalizing Paul Harris (basketball). I have reverted it twice (it has been vandalized four times overall) and he keeps coming up with different usernames to edit. He keeps adding the phrase "has a very good friend in harlem new york Daniel Javier a guard at Thurgood Marshall Academy has sing a letter of intent to play at Army next year." Please help. Thanks. - Thank you. Although I bet you that this kid is going to sign on using a different IP address or username, and add the same sentence back in. Chengwes 23:21, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

MILHIST
Can you tag all of the WPSHIPS articles with "USS" in the title that you are currently tagging with {{WPMILHIST|US-task-force= yes|maritime-task-force=yes}} as well? --Dual Freq 01:27, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Ship Stub Problems
Because ships stubs are pretty mismatched, the PbBot is adding the WikiShip template to some boat pages. Minnesota1 00:20, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, an example of the bot working properly is USS Canopus (AS-9), but it also marks the Farr 40 as a ship, because someone else mis-categorized it. Minnesota1 01:54, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

delsort.js
delsort.js has been modified so that the main /Compact loader is attached to the "delsort" link that also shows the menu. i.e., to bring it up, hover over 'delsort' (any shortcuts will be displayed) but instead click on 'delsort'.
I tried to address the problem you raised of /Compact not showing columns on Safari; did that work for you? See Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Deletion_sorting#Compact_delsort_page.
Also, I have added configuration items so that it can be configured to not watch the Afd. See User:Jayvdb/Deletion sorting tool#Configuration for details. John Vandenberg 23:11, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- I've made a change that may help. If not, I will add a menu item for /Compact, like it was previously. Can we continue this discussion on User_talk:Jayvdb/Deletion sorting tool ... John Vandenberg 00:20, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
Navsource reorganized
One of WP:SHIPS more frequent external linked site reorganized their directory structure recently. I was wondering if the PbBot could go through the ships articles (at least those beginning with "USS " or "USNS "), and create a list of those with the old URL format. Here and here are two examples of the change. Unfortunately I can't confirm that all of them just need the two digits replicated in another level. However if PbBot could create the list of those articles lacking the new directory level in the URL, we could start to manually research the changes in a coordinated manner.
It seems like since no edits are being made that a fully automatic bot could be used. Does PbBot have any less social friends, or is there a better way than a bot to compile this list? Of course I wouldn't complain at all if PbBot et. al. figured out how to query navsource for the new link and installed it in the articles, but that might be above and beyond the call. --J Clear 02:10, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- I've been away for a bit, and will be away at least another week. Could you post the results over on WP:SHIPS? Thanks. --J Clear 11:05, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Percivall Pott
Hi there: Could you please check the spelling of Percivall Pott on your entry. I think it might be Percival. I am not an expert, however, so didn't go in and tinker with it. Your thoughts, attention would be apprciated. Many thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.36.190.184 (talk • contribs) 17:26, July 27, 2007
Nope, not really.

WP:SHIPS tagging
Would you be available sometime in the next few weeks to do another round of WikiProject tagging for WP:SHIPS, as you did previously in June? We've discovered hundreds of untagged articles that should be easily identifiable (for an idea of scope, the entirety of Category:Destroyers of the United States Navy and its subcategories were untagged - upwards of 500 articles). We are working to clear our unassessed backlog first, and once that's done, I'd like to do another pass of tagging for the project. We have done considerable work on our categorization since June, and I have recently developed criteria for a new ship-related article feed that also might help with a tagging project. Please let me know if you would be available, or if I should look for another bot. Thanks much! Maralia 19:12, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
Deletion sorting for Politics and Politicians
I have taken some actions related to the deletion sorting of Politics and Politicians that related directly to an action of yours in June 2007. Redirect of Brian scavo
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Brian scavo, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Brian scavo is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Brian scavo, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 14:30, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Leiki removal
Hi Pb30!
You deleted the page on Leiki. The reason the page was made that two articles on Wikipedia mentioned the company.
Is it possible to find the deleted page source somewhere?
If you think Leiki is not notable enough, I wonder why similar cases such as JumpTap are allowed.
Kind regards,
