Pazhuvil

Pazhuvil is a small village in Trissur district of Kerala state, south India. It is 17 km from Thrissur town, on the Cherpu - Triprayar road.
Pazhuvil is a very typical village very close to city yet has all qualities of an old Kerala village. This Village has a beautiful Temple with a temple pond known as " Ambala Kulam "near by for the devotees. The Murugan temple is believed to be 2000 years old . The famous 'SHASHTI' is the most prominent festival in this temple. The Kavadi aatam is very attractive form of dancing in the festival The village has all modern facilities for dwellers (Hospital, Schools, Church, Masjid, Auditoriums etc). The village is divided into east and west officially and is surrounded by astounding paddy fields. St. Antony's Foraine Church is a Catholic church and the first church in India named after St. Antony. It was founded in 960 AD. This church is one of the famous pilgrimage centers in Kerala. It is renowned for the feast of St. Joseph on March 19.
The main centers are the Chazoor road Junction , Pazhuvil centre , Panchayat Junction. There is a lot of importance given to education here since there is existence of age old Government school.
