Pawtucket Artists: Add stuff for the art & culture section on this page or directly on the wiki. This section is just a stub right now and I'm not gonna do it all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.228.147.23 (talk • contribs)
- Whoa, whoa, whoa. What exactly are you trying to do here? Because it doesn't seem to be the Wiki Way to referee what goes on a page before it goes on. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your intent, but this does not look kosher. Also, it would be a very good idea for you to get a login name and sign your posts with four tildes. The previous was from speck22. I didn't realize that I wasn't logged in when I edited. I was logged in as a browser. I'll double check before posting. (Note that I did remembered to summarize my work. A minor victory.)
Please explain more fully or email me (speck22@gmail.com) re: where I'm going amiss. I'm trying to build this page into a useable source of current information about what's happening in this city by activating the various stakeholders to develop and maintain there own information.
My fear was senting loose a torrent of unmitigated commercialism from developers. If the Wiki Way is to let them have at, my bad. I have removed that paragraph. Also, could you specify any relevant policy docs I should review.
Please advise. Speck22 02:46, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I don't see a need to quote policy (apart from maybe WP:OWN), but I understand the desire to keep commercialism in check. What you might wish to do is set up a WikiProject -- I don't know how to go about it, but you could look at existing WikiProjects to get an idea. Better than just babysitting an article, at any rate -- I've tried editing articles with babysitters, and they can be rather tough to deal with. (Try editing Cutco and see what I mean.) Good luck in what you're trying to do, though -- as someone who goes to Providence about once a year, to me Pawtucket is a place where the PawSox play and Hasbro has its headquarters, and that's most of what I know about it. So there's clearly a need. Haikupoet 03:01, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
