Paveletskaya-Radialnaya

Paveletskaya (Russian: Павелецкая), also known as Paveletskaya-Radialnaya, is a Moscow Metro station on the Zamoskvoretskaya Line. It opened in 1943 and was designed by S.V. Lyashchenko and E.S. Demchenko. Paveletskaya features tall white marble pillars decorated with the hammer and sickle and a high, arched ceiling. The walls are faced with white marble. The original construction was a London-type pylon station, but in 1953 it was rebuilt as a column station. It sits at 33.5 m depth.
Paveletskaya had to be partially rebuilt again following a devastating train fire in 1987 in which parts of the station were severely damaged but, surprisingly, no one was badly injured.

From this station it is possible to transfer to Paveletskaya on the Koltsevaya Line. The station also provides transfer to Paveletsky Rail Terminal. The aeroexpress train link with the Domodedovo Airport also operates from there.
