[edit] No deletion
Huh? I thought the prior section was removed. I doubt this stands any longer as the article, Youhannan Semaan Issayi, has been renamed and redirected from the earlier spelling. It will not be deleted. At least it shouldn't be. Not now, anyway. If it still is, I withdraw my nomination for deletion. It's in the development stage, being worked on and researched so it meets Wiki standards. It is fine as it is right now. Jeeny 20:43, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Youhannan Semaan Issayi
Per your edits to Youhannan Semaan Issayi, the content you added is not reliably sourced and may not meet out policies on biographical articles for living persons and I've reverted the article to the shorter sourced version for the time being. What is your source for the information you are adding? If you let me know I can probably help you add this information, along with citations, so it correctly meets the standards here at Wikipedia.--Isotope23 13:19, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
In reply to your message I would like to in form you, he was my religious leader and teacher and I was closed to him over than 25 years and all the information provided either is my Observation or interviewed by older people within my community, I do have hard copies of his books and also he might have profile in the Vatican or Assyro-Chaldean Patriarchy Archives In Iraq. I can assure you this article will be edited by other people and his biography will be expanded which meet your requirement , becuase he was a great and well known religious leader in Iran, If there is any further question feel free to contact me thank you.
- Aw, Paulapatty, I'm sorry your work was taken down and I was responsible in the nomination. Before that though, I did try to help out as best as I could with little knowledge or references. Wikipedia, as you probably know by now, has to be sourced and not original research or personal essay. I do appreciate what you are trying to do to note this great man. Perhaps you can get help in translating in English. Although I don't know how to ask for help in that respect but I have seen it somewhere. Maybe typing {{helpme}} on your talk page so you will attract someone who can help you meet the Wiki qualifications. I do know, though, that you can use your books as references by naming the book and page number in the ref tags so it displays in the reference section. Good luck and thank you for your work. __Jeeny 16:44, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
As I mentined before I am communicating with diffrent sources to obtain valid sources to support the Biography of this Arcbishop , but I need more time to collect data and cite the reference as you required. please help me in this regards. thanks.
[edit] Mar?
Could you explain the meaning of "Mar" that is in front of Archbishop? Does it mean "saint" or something similar? Is it a special title perhaps? It would be good if you could help me and others understand the meaning of "Mar" in English. I'll continue to do more research on my end, but it is very difficult with just the internet as reference and not knowing the language other than English. I'm wondering if there is more information in another language that can be translated, as that would be great. Since this is the English version of Wikipedia. Jeeny 17:15, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
"Mar” is title and also is an Aramaic word derivative from Maran (Jesus) in Aramaic Liturgy. It means the head of church and the English version is his Excellency
- Thank you so much. I'm having a hard time trying to research this article. I think it's because I not only do not know the language of the correct (uses, titles, names, etc.) or proper etiquette for this topic, and because I only know English. I hope others come around who know more and can help you with this. Jeeny 19:19, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Another question
Was the Archbishop a "Roman" Catholic connected to the Pope? Or something similar but different. I noticed that some Eastern Catholic religions are different in that they are not connected directly with the Pope of Rome, or do not have rites in Latin, etc. Could you help with more information about this? I apologize if my wording is juvenile, I just don't know what I'm talking about. Learning, I hope. lol Thank you. Jeeny 19:30, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
For your information the Archbishop was Easter Chaldean Catholic not Roman Catholic, and he was serving under the direction of the Assyro-Chaldean Patriarch Located in Iraq and indirectly connected to the Pope. The Divine Liturgy is eastern rite and is totally different with Latin rite. The archbishop was educated in Rome and he was well known by late Popes John Paul II, PaulIV, John 23, Pious and he was an adviser for the pope John Paul II In regards to the Christianity in Iran.

you added a hangon tag to your userpage, which makes it show up on the list of pages to be deleted. I've removed the tag.--Isotope23 20:52, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

- Can you tell me more about the image? Is it in a church, if so, what is the name of the church? Where is it located? I can re-upload the image for you, with the info you gave on the image plus what I'm asking you here. That's so people who cannot see, but have a program that reads the text on the screen can describe the picture better so they can get an idea. I do not know what it is, I can describe what I see, but it would be better to know what it is, an altar? In a church? What church? Where is it located? etc. Thanks. I'm trying to help you because I believe you are truly trying to help and contribute to Wikipedia in a very good way. Thank you. Jeeny 00:12, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your edit to Mohammad Esmaili
[edit] Message posted on Wednesday, April 25, 2007
Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Mohammad Esmaili. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites (http://www.donbak.co.uk/artists/esmaili_mohammad.htm in this case) or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:
-
- If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Mohammad Esmaili with a link to where we can find that note;
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:Mohammad Esmaili with a link to the details.
Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. After you do so, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on the article page and leave a note at Talk:Mohammad Esmaili saying you have done so. An administrator will review the new content before taking action.
It is also important that all Wikipedia articles have an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your original contributions are welcome.

[edit] Serious Copyright Problems!
Hi, I noticed that you have uploaded many images and also text that belongs to other people. Wikipedia has strict copyright policies that prohibit this. I suggest you very carefully review Wikipedia's copyright policies before you make any further contributions. Otherwise, you are very likely to be banned as a persistent copyright violator. If you have any questions, leave a note on my user talk page. Thank you. --Butseriouslyfolks 05:39, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Hi;
I cited all reference for the article and all images and also the source of loading of images if there is any.Paulapatty 06:02, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- Citing references is only one part of the problem. In most cases, you cannot use other people's pictures without permission. It is all clearly spelled out in Wikipedia's copyright policies. --Butseriouslyfolks 12:07, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Also, Conflict of Interest
You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.
Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.
If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. --Butseriouslyfolks 05:42, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
The articles are not about my self and relative or any promotion of the business is the history of the people of the country that is limited in having source to refer but the information is accurate and true and most of them I have experienced pesrsonally in the past , so there is no conflict of interest , But I tried to cite the reference for any article if i found in the internet. Thank you for your support. Paulapatty 06:12, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- If the article Paul Caldani is not about you, then you have taken credit for somebody else's photograph copyright here: Image:Paul_caldani.jpg. If it is about you, then the conflict of interest policy applies. --Butseriouslyfolks 12:10, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Iraq Does Have Copyright Laws
While Iraqi copyright laws are not recognized by the US government, those laws do apply to Wikipedia. You can find that information here. Iraqi copyright lasts until 25 years after the author's death, up to a total of 50 years.
If you are uploading documents or images originally published in Iraq, you should use the template {{iraqcopyright}} Keep in mind, however, that if a document or image originally published on the Internet may or may not be considered published in Iraq, even if the original creator is Iraqi, so the more extensive protections of US copyright law may apply. I hope that you will understand and respect these policies. Thank you. --Butseriouslyfolks 19:10, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Final warning
I see that attempts have been made to address the issue of copyright violation with you, and I note that you continue to upload copyrighted material such as Image:H.Tehrani.jpg and Image:Shahram.jpg. I'm not sure you understand how copyright works or how it applies here, but you cannot claim that copyright is released on something unless you are the creator of that work. So for photographs, you have to be the one who took the photograph. I doubt that is the case for either of the preceding examples. Other users have also demonstrated that you uploaded copyrighted photos you took from other Web sites.
If you upload any further copyrighted work in violation of our image use policy (please read Wikipedia:Image use policy) I will block you from editing. Please read the policy and ask questions before you upload any more photos. Thanks --Spike Wilbury 18:37, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
I would like to infrom you that those photos are not copy righted , becuase the photos have been used in different websites without addressing any copy right reserved . Furthermore if upload any photo and cited the reference , upload any photo is within Wikipedia policy or not. Finally I do have Photos and posters collection can I upload those photos/posters or not. Please advise thank you Paulapatty 08:00, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- Please do not take offense when I say this, but it is obvious from your conduct and your words that you do not understand copyright law. Please read Wikipedia's copyright policies, and please pay close attention to this section. Once you study those pages, I am sure you will understand it is not necessary to "reserve" copyrights. Copyright exists automatically as soon as an image is created. Citing a source does not make it ok to use somebody else's property. You cannot upload somebody else's property, even if you have a copy of it in your collection, or if you take a picture of it. If you take a picture of a person or a place, you can upload it and use it at Wikipedia. If you did not take the picture, you cannot use it, except under very specific circumstances. If you take a picture of somebody else's picture, that doesn't help, because you don't have the right to the other person's picture. I hope this is helpful, because I don't think I can explain it any clearer. --Butseriouslyfolks 08:26, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading Image:Mar yuhana - Isayi.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 15:49, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
