[edit] Greeting from the carbonverse.

Hey Paul, it's Peter MacDonald, I found your wiki user page while googling 'Tay Zonday' of all people, (via a sock puppet of one of the Wiki-vandals on the vista page). Just figured I would say hi. Bigmacd24 09:10, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

lol oh noes! My secret identity is revealed! lol. Well it's nice to see someone else I know on the project. How exactly did you did you find my page? I don't understand what you said. Paul Cyr 12:40, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
Like, [Tay Zonday] (whose page I eventually helped create) had previously been the name of a sock puppet who belonged to a vandal who was posting on your userpage. 129.97.4.143 01:30, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hello?

Hi! Welcome to wikipedia urself. I maybe new but I aint unknown to the rules. I don't know what you are on about but on Windows Vista that was not inappropriate talk. Look at what my message was. I said that the article should mention that video games from old times don't work.

Now, I don't know you. So I dont know if u dont like video games. Maybe thas why u thought it was inappropriate. But video games is a massive business these days and the fact that Vista can't capitalize on a greater part of this market is a major downside and should be included in the article. Then I went on to refer to my personal experience as one of the users had already talked about theirs in regard to this situation.

I'm quite angry about this. I have come a long way and made numerous good contributions to Byzantine and Assyrian History. Don't tell me hats inappropriate talk because it wasn't.

Regards

I suggest you read WP:Talk#How to use article talk pages specifically the part that says, "Talk pages are for discussing the article, not for general conversation about the article's subject... Irrelevant discussions are subject to removal." Posts such as, "Funny u mention cos my laptop/notebook Vista crashes everytime I try to plat Red Alert!! No fair!!!" are not appropriate.
First you accused me of inappropriate talk page use. Then personal attacks. Then you threaten to report me to an admin. Can you see your pattern, going out of control over one sentence?
Let me make things straight here, so we can end this nonesense once and for all (I'm not saying ur nonesense, this is not a personal attack).
  • On the vista talk page I asked that the article should include a certain section. Then a user replied and I gave a friendly comment. There was no inappropriate talk page use - it was an example of how vista cant play video games and o this should be mentioned in the article. This isn't conservapdia were by everything must be strictly academic.
  • Secondly, in wikipedia, the greatest rule of all is that if a rule is restricting you from making a positive edit, then you ignore that rule. So perhaps you should take a look at the rules, not me. If I did what you asked me to do, hell I would not be able to have so many firnedly wikipedians. Your comments are the first nd the wierdest. I know of a friendly admin whom I regularly discuss with him light-hearted matters.
  • I don't like this little conversation we are having. You seem to have made a big fuss over a small sentence like that. You should take a look at the Main page's archive, see my comments, see how "inppropriate" they are. Admins like Nil and Atropos have asked me to lighten up. However, I am willing to end this on good terms. So just leave me alone and have a good day editting.

Respectfully, Tourskin 19:42, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

To clarify, as I already stated, my comment was not in regards to your original post, but using the talk page as a forum when you made a post saying, "Funny u mention cos my laptop/notebook Vista crashes everytime I try to plat Red Alert!! No fair!!!".
If you want to drop this then I will drop it. Paul Cyr 19:56, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
But the thing is that it was an example illustrating my point!! The video games didnt work on my vista and when I went to best buy they confirmed the problem that vista has with video games. The red alert game crashed and I used it as an example. I see that you also removed the comment that replied to my first one. I will drop it but I stand by my belief that the second comment was not inappropriate. Since it seems that we can only agree to disagree, I suggest you and I stay out of each others way and let others handle it. Fair well. Tourskin 20:36, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Just to let you know that most cleanup templates, like "{{Unreferenced}}", "{{Fact}}" and "{{Cleanup}}" etc., are best not "subst"ed . See WP:SUBST for more details. Regards, Rich Farmbrough, 11:46 13 December 2007 (GMT).

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Xvsxp main.JPG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Xvsxp main.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 04:58, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Xvsxp_comparison.JPG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Xvsxp_comparison.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Thank you. Melesse (talk) 10:34, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
