[edit] Dunedin Public Libraries copy/paste
Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Dunedin Public Libraries. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. - Hi Paul - saw your note on XLerate's page. In these circumstances, the best thing to do is to add a note on the article's discussion page (in this case creating Talk:Dunedin Public Libraries) explaining that you as editor have used this material with permission. This confirms that the material is okay for Wikipedia's use and also indicates any potential areas which may need to be checked for things like conflict of interest or bias (see my comments at Talk:Carisbrook for a similar example). By the way, you may be interested in checking out the Wikipedia:New Zealand Wikipedians' notice board sometime! Grutness...wha? 01:30, 1 May 2008 (UTC) (who worked at the DPL briefly, many years ago)

- Hi Paul, apologies for the copyright notice, as you say the material was put there with the DPL webmasters permission. The libraries website has a copyright link at the bottom of each page, which is why I thought it was used without permission. The page WP:COPYREQ also has some helpful advice on this topic.
