Paulo Gazelle is a Brazilian visual artist who began his nightlife adventure as a VIP host runner at the door of Crobar in New York City(2003).He is also the founder and editor of Gazelland Magazine; a tribute to the Freak Chics(Club Kids) of New York, London and Sao Paulo.

Paulo Evandro(Gazelle) was born in Brazil(Teresina-PI), on December 25th, 1969. He moved to Rio de Janeiro in the end of 80's decade to pursue his dreams of studying marketing and publicity at the Escola Superior de Publicidade e Marketing, where he only stayed 3 months. He was fascinated by the work of Washington Luis Olivetto, who created the ad Primeiro Sutia(1988)for Brazilian lingerie company Valisere. Paulo left the school upon realizing that the path to express himself artistically couldn't be understood in that competitive environment.

Paulo adopted the name Gazelle after Lorna Washington(Rio de Janeiro) told him that he when in heels, walked just like a "Gazela". He adopted the English version Gazelle. Lorna is one of the most famous female impersonators of Brazil; she lives in Rio.
