In keeping with the general beer entry styles, I'm thinking that this should be moved to a page for Bosteels brewery, with the specific beers (including Karmaliet) described there. The entry for Kwak can be a redirect. If there are no objections, I'll start on this. Riflemann 23:07, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

I must say I did the relevant categories and I was wondering at the time if the categories Belgian beer and Belgian breweries should be the same or not. Now I think that each ("notable") beer should have its article mentionning the brewery in the first sentence. So to me, you should create a new article Bosteels brewery (or Brouwerij Bosteels?) if you like to talk about the brewery. Julien Tuerlinckx 17:55, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
And, of course, an article Tripel Karmeliet if you feel like talking (read "writing") of this particular beer. Julien Tuerlinckx 17:57, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
This is something more wide-reaching than this one beer, so I'll bring up something on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Beer Riflemann 21:46, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pronunciation

An anonymous user (71.225.46.199) is constantly changing the pronunciation from kwɑk into kavack. I'm Dutch and I know for sure it's not pronounced this way.

The K is just a 'k' The W is the most difficult one, it's in between a 'v' and a 'w' like 'voice' and 'we'. In some parts of Holland/Belgium people say 'v' in other parts it's 'w' And the A is pronounced as in 'father' According to the GenAm IPA Chart kwak should be written as kwɑk or maybe kvɑk not kavack - Emmaneul 13:04, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Yep, agree here. Whilst not Dutch, I've lived in NL for 7 years and have gotten much confirmation from dutch and belgians that it's kwɑk. The anonymous user is in an IP range from the states - I think a local dutch-speaker is far more believable wrt pronunciation. Perhaps we need an audio clip here? - Riflemann 11:52, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

Good idea, I've added an audio clip. I think it's better this way. - Emmaneul 13:29, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

This is not a Dubbel for any cents.... --Madame Choucroute 03:15, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion relocated

I have relocated the beer discussion orphaned on the Talk:Kwak page as that has been a redirect for some time and is now a disambiguation page. - Dravecky (talk) 06:41, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
