Talk:Pauly Shore
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I have to admit I'm no Pauly Shore-ologist, but I thought his catchphrase was "Hey, buuuuddee". How did he use "weasel" in a sentence? --Arteitle 18:48, Dec 17, 2004 (UTC)
He doesn't really use it in a sentence, it's more of an interjection. The most common variation is "we-E-easel", where he squeaks out the "E", accompanied with the wiggling of all the fingers on one outstretched hand. It's in virtually every movie. I seem to recall him and Stephen Baldwin play-fighting with their weasel hands in Bio-Dome, too. Thanks for the copyedits, by the way. --M@rēino 19:15, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)
The name of his new reality show is "Minding the Store," not the Shore...a reference to his mother's comedy club, "The Comedy Store." Pacian 14:26, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)
The article states that the his TV series Pauly "aired one episode, which ranks among one of the lowest rated episodes of a television show in history. It was cancelled the next day; in some markets, the show was cut off in mid-episode and replaced by either reruns of other shows, commercials, or a test pattern."
Since I don't know the fact, I won't bother editing this, but I do know that they showed at least three episodes before pulling the plug. Someone who knows more about this needs to look into it and correct this. --Bacteria 09:45, 13 August 2005 (UTC)
- The test-patern claim is highly suspect ;) -- stewacide

[edit] Giving back money
Why did someone remove my addition of Pauly giving money for people watching his show? Maybe someone more skilled and fluent in the English language could reedit them for me? Pauly had a deal in where you watched the show, and if you didnt like it you write him a letter or email telling him you think it sucks, and he will give you money. It was for the first 250,000 people a dollar each, I dont know how many people took this up, but I am guessing since it was cancelled it was all of them. --The great grape ape is straight out of the know 01:00, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Punked
Should his appearance on "Punked" be in the article, where he starting yelling at this 12 year old kid who was interviewing him and asking, albeit, rather rude questions? It seemed like it cast him in a very bad light.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.53.221.28 (talk • contribs)
Only if you can find a source for the Punked appearance other than the episode itself -- like a write-up in Entertainment Weekly or something. --M@rēino 01:07, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Keep article with Clean Up
The article should stay, Shore is relevant to late 20th century American American culture. Therefore, I have Wikified the first paragraph, and cleaned up the article in general. There are references for TBS and Shore offering a dollar for anybody who didn't like Minding The Store, added one to article. redcountess 21:26, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Staged Onstage Assault
I've read on TMZ that the event was staged. Here is a link to that information: http://www.tmz.com/2006/12/12/cops-say-pauly-shore-video-a-fake/
Someone keeps changing it to say the event was "legitimate". Besides the fact that the wording makes no sense, I have confirmed that the Odessa police department does have the quoted press release on their web site. I am sure they would prefer we link to the tmz.com links though.
[edit] Citation
The film garnered critical praise and was positively received by fans, quickly developing a cult following.
I don't think this is true. Cite it!
[edit] The Simpsons
I'm not sure about this but didn't he appear in the Simpsons? The Treehouse of Horror episode where Homer and Bart as well as a number of celebrities they class as reject celebrities I guess are all on a rocket to the Sun and I remember one of the people saying "Hey, buuuudddeeeee" which I assumed was him. Although did they actually use the real people or get people to imitate them? I definately wouldn't want to appear on the Simpsons like that!
Ross Perot, Dan Quayle, Tonya Harding, Al Sharpton, Courtney Love, Spike Lee, Tom Arnold, Pauly Shore, Rosie O'Donnell and Dr. Laura were in the plane, but Tom Arnold was the only one who did his own voice.Fernandobouregard 23:38, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Use of his name as a synonym for has-been celebrities
This sentence: "The perceived low-quality of his starring vehicles combined with his brief tenure as a bankable movie star has resulted in his name being synonymous with untalented, unintelligent, has-been or unpopular celebrity" is attached to the end of the second paragraph in the "Career" section. This may be true in some circles, but which ones? I will modify it and hopefully somebody can point to where this came from.Koshki (talk) 00:44, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
