[edit] Triple fuel efficiency
This is simply improbable. The fuel efficiency of a car is driven by several paramenters, but here, only one, the efficiency of the engine (rate of energy conversion between gasoline/diesel/LPG and mechanical energy in the engine) can be affected, the rest doesn't change (transmission...). The effiency of a petrol engine is in the 20-30% range, depending on the technology and load. To triple fuel efficiency, one would have to increase effiency to 60-90% !! Even a perfect carnot generator with the highest effiency allowed by the temperature difference between the flame and air (see second principle of thermodynamics) would not do that. Comment by 3rd party-Not sure how this guy or gal knows thermodynamics when he or she cannot use spell check. Additionnaly, adding water into fuel lowers the flame temperature (this was used on certain WWII planes) and thus would reduce top efficiency. 3rd party- adding water vapor does inprove horse power, thus may increase gas milage. This principal was first discovered when horsepower inprovements were discovered on wet rainy days with increased moisture content in the air. Preheating air before it goes into the engine is a thermodynamic nonsense, to increase effiency you need air as cold as possible (this is what some diesel engines have intercoolers). Although it seems impossible for gas milage to increase 3 fold, it's kind of like saying you know for sure God does not exist. It may be possible but sounds unlikely. We may never fully understand the full potential of fuels, or the infinite combinations of fuels that may result in some supernatural unleashing of power previously thought to be impossible. The problem with Paul Pantone's case, as I see it, is he fails to show any demonstration of actual gas milage tests done on the famous ford pinto with the fuel reactor setup installed. I am a licensed emmissions inspector and understand fuels and the science of them. His demo of the lawn mower running on alternative fuels is much different than proving a pinto can get 60 or 100 mpg. He has only proved thus far that his reactor can burn alternative fuels.
