from VfD:

Local activist that got on a local ballot (Toronto, not that it really matters), yet received less that 9% of the votes[1]. A couple thousand hits for the name, but many are not him, and many are Wikipedia mirrors. Niteowlneils 21:20, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep. Assuming the article is factual, this person seems notable enough to warrant an article. ~leif 21:39, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Oh, perfect. Now Conservative Party candidates from the Canadian election are too obscure to warrant an article? (For the record, while Watters came in third in his riding, the Conservatives are the Official Opposition.) My vote is to keep, with the added comment that I guess Canada's listing on VfD really is imminent. Bearcat 00:22, 14 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. A candidate for parliament of a major party (even if it is one that is quite weak in the region) is worthy of note. Also, I made an edit to clean up some of the links and other stuff. Modargo 00:59, 14 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep one of the more successful Canadian candidates we have articles on. - SimonP 01:23, Oct 14, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, major party nominees for Parliaments of major countries are encyclopedic. [[User:Meelar|Meelar (talk)]] 03:43, Oct 14, 2004 (UTC)
  • Weak keep. Pretty much a sacrificial lamb for a major party in one of their weak areas, but at least he still got over 5% of the vote. Average Earthman 09:13, 14 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, of course, and stop deletion trolls. Intrigue 21:38, 18 Oct 2004 (UTC)
