Paulo Sérgio da Costa (born in December 5, 1979 in Moita, Portugal) is a football attacking midfielder, who currently plays for Anorthosis Famagusta. Has played for various European teams. He also had a trial at Milan giants Inter Milan a few years ago, but he never succeeded. However, he managed to stay in Italy when he signed for Reggina Calcio.

[edit] Biography

His football career started in one little club called SC Lourinhanense, from where he moved to Sporting Lisbon in 1999, but after that year his career has never flowed consistently, never lasting longer than one season in one club (with the exception of Bordeaux): from Sporting, then FC Alverca, Reggina, FC Porto, Venezia, Gil Vicente FC (on loan from Bordeaux) and then Aris FC.

Aris started the 2005-06 second division season in poor fashion, but improved their game and results under Nikos Anastopoulos, as Costa arrived during the January transfer window. Paulo Costa adapted quickly at Aris, becoming a starter and forming a successful attacking partnership with Spaniard Koke. Aris regained top-flight status, and finished fourth in 2006-07.

In August 2007, he started a Cypriot adventure, as have many Portuguese players in recent years, joining Aris Limassol. Today, in 3/1/2007, he signed a 3 and a half year contract with cup winners and current leaders of the league Anorthosis Famagusta (one of the most historic teams in Cyprus).
