Paulo Freire Freedom School

Paulo Freire Freedom School is a free, public charter school, grades 6-8, which opened in Tucson, Arizona in August 2005 with a vision and mission inspired by the life and work of Brazilian educator and literacy pioneer Paulo Freire, as well as the 1964 Mississippi Freedom School movement.

At Paulo Freire Freedom School there are about 75 students ranging in age from 11 to 14.

The directors of Paulo Freire Freedom School are Santo Nicotera and JoAnn Groh.
