Paulinus I of Aquileia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paulinus I was Patriarch of Aquileia from 557 to 571.

He moved his see to Grado, a small island opposite Aquileia, keeping, however, the old title. Under the pontificate of Pelagius I, in a synod, he renounced communion with Rome, and excommunicated the great Byzantine general Narses, the hope of Italy.
