Paul do Mar

Paul do Mar (wrong spelling: Paúl do Mar) is a parish in the municipality of Calheta, Madeira, Portugal. The population in 2001 was 885, with a density of 520.6 inhabitants/km² for an area of 1.7 km². It is one of the smallest parishes in area in Madeira, located about 3 km from Calheta and about 1 km from Fajã da Ovelha. It is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the west and mountains to the north and east. A group of islets lies to the west. The main activity is agriculture, with a stream flowing right through the middle of the village.

Paul do Mar is accessible by one road connecting Porto Moniz, Santana, Calheta and Funchal to the east, and another road connecting Fajã da Ovelha and Jardim do Mar, parallel to the Atlantic Ocean.
