Paul Whelan (footballer)

Paul Whelan (born 10 May 1964 in Dublin) was an Irish soccer player during the 1990's.
He made his League of Ireland debut for Home Farm F.C. at Dundalk on the 21st of November 1982.
Whelan was a strong defender who also represented Drogheda United, Derry City F.C., Bohemian F.C. and Shamrock Rovers during his career in the League of Ireland. He captained Bohemians to their FAI Cup win in May 1992.
During his spell at Rovers he scored once in 4 appearances in European competition[1].
He comes from a famous footballing family which includes his father Ronnie Whelan Snr., his brother Ronnie Whelan and son Gavin Whelan.
