Paul Torrisi

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paolo "Paul" Roberto Torrisi (born April 25, 1970) was one of the final four contestants on the first series of The Apprentice in the UK.[1] Though ultimately fired, Sir Alan Sugar did offer Torrisi a job working with his son Daniel for his private jet company Amsair. Torrsi turned down the job on Sugar's advice and has since been focusing on a career in the media.

After The Apprentice, he has gone on to make appearances on Grandstand (BBC), BBC Breakfast, Bargain Hunt, ITV1's Confessions Of An Estate Agent, T4, Look North. He returned to The Apprentice as a guest on BBC2's You're Fired.

Torrisi currently presents Property Prophets on UKTV Style and UKTV Bright Ideas. He writes regularly for Start Your Business magazine and has made many appearances on BBC Radio discussing business and current events.

On The Apprentice Paul, a fan-favourite, often blustered his way to boardroom victories over other, sometimes seemingly more worthy candidates. In one particularly hostile boardroom, candidate Miriam raised questions about Paul's work ethic, to which Paul, stunned, replied: "I worked my bloody nuts off in that flaming thing!"

Alan Sugar often praised Paul's tenacity, remarking that Paul was a "renegade", saying he reminded him of his younger self.

Paul often attributed his hotheadedness to his Italian background, to which Sugar's assistant Margaret said: "That's no excuse for having a temper."

He's been cast as a Sicilian gangster in a British movie called Fight Back. [2]
