[edit] Criticisms

Some critics charge that Thurrott writes from an emotional position and lacks technical knowledge in the subjects he writes about (for example, not understanding that Vista's metadata search uses third-party plug-ins for unknown file formats or claiming that Service Pack 2 for Windows XP brought more system-level changes than Mac OS X v10.4). Bloggers Ed Bott[4] and Robert McLaws[5] have chastised Thurrott for poor journalistic integrity. Thurrott was also criticized for a price comparison between a Mac Pro and Dell Precision workstation that had different specifications.

In order to setup a straw man's argument, Paul has also been found to comment on his own winsupersite blog using fake ids[citation needed]
