Paul Strisik

Paul Strisik, NA, AWS (1918 - July 22, 1998) was a prominent American plein air painter. He was born in Brooklyn NY, but lived most of his life in Rockport, MA. He worked in both oil and watercolor. His art education began at the Art Students League in New York with Frank Vincent Dumond.
Paul was a member of many American art organizations, including the Rockport Art Association, the North Shore Arts Association, and many others. He was an Academician in the National Academy of Design.
His paintings are in many museums, corporations and other prominent private collections.
Paul is the author of several books on painting, including "The Art of Landscape Painting", and "Capturing Light in Oils", published in 1995.
Paul Strisik is building an impressive auction record; his paintings are highly prized and are relatively hard to find. Though primarily known as a 'Rockport' artist, Strisik produced a significant body of work based on the Southwest. He maintained a winter home in Santa Fe from 1976 to his death.
