Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Paul McGuire, CMT Central's leading man, was raised in Thornhill, Ontario where he attended York University.
After leaving York University, Paul, a self-confessed "pop-culture junkie," decided to put all those hours spent in movie theatres and in front of the television set to good use, giving a career in the entertainment industry a try. HE also wanted to find a job as a singer but left that to become an actor
A few commercials and small TV roles paved the way for a hosting gig for a game show called Clips on YTV. And thus began a six-year relationship with Canada's number one children's broadcaster where Paul hosted and produced numerous shows including The Breakfast Zone and The Zone and travelled across the country hosting YTV's live events.
Paul has also worked as host and producer of the successful national entertainment magazine show, eNow. When eNow evolved into what we know now as etalk, Paul helped adapt the new show and for the first year he ran the show's day-to-day operation, and acted as the show's main film reporter, travelling weekly to Los Angeles and New York to interview Hollywood's biggest and brightest.
Recently Paul has re-acquainted himself with the acting world with parts in Welcome to Mooseport with Ray Romano and Fever Pitch directed by the Farrelly Brothers, while still finding time to write and produce the lifestyle series Sex, Toys & Chocolate.
Paul has recently appeared in a new Future Shop commercial.
Paul steps into viewers' daily lives as the host of CMT Central and with his design company, Cosmonaut, soon releasing a line of furniture and clothing. Paul is happy to be at CMT Canada.
