Paul Martin (TV presenter)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Paul Martin is the presenter of BBC antiques programme Flog It!
He studied art and woodwork at Falmouth College in Cornwall. Following his graduation, he spent two years as a scenic painter on film sets. From the age of 25, owned a pitch on London's famous Portobello Road.
He then went on to work as an antiques props stylist for magazines like Marie Claire and New Woman, whilst also undertaking larger projects by designing antique sets for television shoots for The Clothes Show and Granada TV.
Paul is a professional drummer, working with bands such as The Choir Boys and Dogs D'Amour in the 1990s. To this day, he can be seen playing in local Jazz and Blues bands. He also ran an antique shop, The Table Gallery, in Marlborough in Wiltshire, specialising in 17th and 18th century Welsh and English oak furniture.
He often divides viewers - some seeing him as charmingly eager and engaging; others as profoundly patronising to both the television audience and those bringing items for valuation/auction.
He married BBC production co-ordinator Charlotte Godfrey in September 2007. They live in the village of Seend in Wiltshire.
