[edit] Biography

He was born in 1963 in Jersey. Upon leaving school he served in the Royal Marines as a bugle-boy before moving on to a career in personal protection, and becoming a fully qualified executive protection specialist.

He is a musician, having had three albums produced and distributed over the internet and regularly performing in healing masses for the Christian community in Jersey. These include the Queen of Peace [1] which was inspired by the miraculous healing of a young boy [2]in Medjugorje[3].

In Summer 2000, he played support for Art Garfunkel when the singer visited Jersey for a concert at Fort Regent[4]

[edit] Electoral History

Deputy Le Claire first stood for election in a Senatorial by-election in February 1999, coming second to Jerry Dorey with 1,811 votes [5].

Jerry Dorey vacated his position as Deputy in St Helier District #1 in April 1999, a position to which Deputy Le Claire was elected[6].

He was elected as Senator in the Senator elections in November 1999, placing 4th with 8,287 votes[7].

In 2005 he was a founder member of the Jersey Democratic Alliance, but following the resignation of Senator Ted Vibert as Chairman and the subsequent election of a more left-leaning leadership, he left to lead the Centre Party.

In the Senator election in 2005 he polled ninth of fifteen candidates and failed to gain re-election.

Following the election he announced that he was resigning his membership of the Centre Party and in the subsequent Deputy election he was elected as Deputy of St Helier District #1, topping the poll [8].
