Paul Chester Hoover (born April 14, 1976 in Columbus, Ohio) is a Major League Baseball catcher for the Florida Marlins.
Hoover was drafted in the 1997 by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 23rd round of the amateur draft.
On September 29, 2007, Hoover broke up a potential no-hitter in the eighth inning with an infield single to spoil a bid by John Maine of the New York Mets. The Mets are one of the few teams in baseball to not have a no-hitter in their history.
