Paul Dedrick Gray born on April 8, 1972 in Des Moines, Iowa, United States) is the bassist for the nine-piece metal band Slipknot. Gray is known as #2 in the band..[1]

He was formerly in bands such as Anal Blast, Vexx, Body Pit, Inveigh Catharsi, and was one of the original members of Slipknot, along with Shawn Crahan and Anders Colsefini.[2]

He has sung back up vocals for some of the Slipknot songs, such as "Spit It Out", "Get This", "People = Shit", "Disasterpiece", "Three Nil", "Pulse of the Maggots" and "Before I Forget"- usually when Corey Taylor's voice has become too dry, tired, and hoarse. He once filled in for Unida on bass for a tour in 2003. He is featured as a guest artist on the new Drop Dead, Gorgeous album, Worse Than A Fairy Tale. He also did a brief tour with Reggie and the Full Effect.

Gray was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs in the June of 2003.[3]

He currently lives in Des Moines, Iowa with his wife.

He is left handed.

Paul has worn three different types of masks throught the course of Slipknots history. During Slipknot's first album he wore a pig mask. During Iowa, he wore a executioner mask. On Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses he wore a Hannibal Lecter mask with a bullet hole on the forehead.
