Paul Gemignani

Paul Gemignani is an American musical director with a career on Broadway spanning over thirty years.

Gemignani began his career in 1971 as a replacement musical director for Stephen Sondheim's Follies, eventually leading the cast on the subsequent tour.[1] Since then, he has led over 38 Broadway and West End musicals,[2] including Tony Award for Best Musical and Best Revival winners A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Evita, Jerome Robbins' Broadway, Crazy for You, Kiss Me, Kate (1999), Into the Woods (2002), and Pulitzer Prize winner Sunday in the Park with George.[3] He conducted the recent film version of Sweeney Todd and several installations of Great Performances,[4] and he is slated to lead Pal Joey in its revival in December of 2008. He was the recipient of a Special Drama Desk Award in 1989.[5]

He is married to actress Derin Altay and father to actor Alexander Gemignani.[3]
