Paul Gardner (programmer)

Paul Gardner (parg) is a British programmer and one of the main developers of the Azureus bittorrent client. He is currently employed by Azureus, Inc.

Some key areas of development have been:

• Design and implementation of the Azureus DHT [1], based on Kademlia. This was initially released in version 2.3.0.0 [2] in May, 2005, pre-dating the incompatible distributed tracking features later added to other clients (starting with release 4.1.0 of the Mainline client in June 2005).
• Protocol Encryption
• UDP transport and NAT Traversal
• UPnP and Media Server support
• Tracker and Sharing features
• I2P and Tor support
