Paul Edwards (footballer born 1980)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Paul Edwards (born January 1, 1980 in Manchester, England) is an English footballer, currently playing for Port Vale.
Edwards was bought to Port Vale for a fee of around £50,000 pounds from Oldham Athletic. After not making much of an impression at Vale he was placed on the transfer list. After hearing about this he gave an outburst in the Stoke-on-Trent local newspaper, The Sentinel. He clamied he was the best player playing at Port Vale. In the following game against AFC Bournemouth, every time Edwards touched the ball he got booed[citation needed]. Vale lost that game 3–1 but the game after that against Yeovil Town saw Edwards answer his critics as he scored in a 2–2 draw.
