Paul Cooper (born 7 June 1982 in York, England)[1] is a professional speedway rider for Sheffield Tigers.
Cooper is also an accomplished Grasstrack and Long Track rider, reaching the World Final of the latter. He is a multi-British Grasstrack Champion in the minor solo classes. He is the current British 250cc Solo Champion, winning his title at this years event at High Easter, Essex.
In April 2008 Paul became the Practice Start World Champion in a recent Parade Lap at Owlerton, the Home of the Sheffield Tigers. Paul completed a double Gold in this meeting by easily beating Percy Grasstrack in the Freestyle Clutch Tightening competition a title Percy has held since 1972.
Father of four Paul has stated that after a meeting he likes nothing more than to get home and make sure the Kids are all tucked up in bed before he settles down in his comfy slippers with a nice pint of Creamy John Smiths and watches his favourite film Coyote Ugly. Paul says this is the ideal way to finish off an adrenaline fuelled evening.
