Paul Cannell

Paul Cannell (Born Newcastle upon Tyne 2 September 1953) is a footballer who played forward for Newcastle United between 1972 - 1978. He made 62 appearances and scored 18 goals, before moving to the United States. Cannell was the substitute for the 1976 League Cup Final, which Newcastle lost 2 - 1 to Manchester City.
In his career as a whole, he played for Newcastle United, two spells with the Washington Diplomats (1978-79 80 Apps 37 Goals, 1981 13 apps 1 goal) 1 , the Memphis Rogues (27 Apps 8 Goals), Calgary Boomers, the Detroit Express, North Shields, and Mansfield Town.
