Paul Brainard

Paul Brainard (born 1969 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is a visual artist working in the medium of Painting and Drawing. Brainard lives and works in New York City. Brainard graduated from University of Pittsburgh and earned a Masters of Fine Arts from Pratt Institute. His work is focused on a the combination of abstraction and representation. Imagery in the drawings reflect personal experience and random imagery from advertising to create new hybrid forms. He has shown in New York at John Connelly Presents, 31 Grand, Tastes Like Chicken Artspace and Explosivo Art Show at Secret Project Robot and LEGION Project# 10 with Lisa Kirk. He curated a show at Greenberg Van Doren Gallery entitled "True Faith."

Brainard also participated in the ongoing video project in Pittsburgh, PA called The Hour Show, specifically in a segment entitled Boot Camp.
