[edit] Unit display templates
Thanks. What I was trying to figure out is which of these Unit display templates transcluded {{Convert}}
. The new version can't cope with lk's being left empty so I've been going through and defaulting it to off. I think I got them all. Jɪmp 03:15, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Category:Unit display/doc
Hi Pat, :Category:Unit display/doc is not actually a category, it's a piece of template documentation, and as shouldn't be in the category namespace. So I have copied it to Template:Unit display/doc, fixed the links, and nominated it for speedy deletion as an empty category. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 12:42, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. I followed up with a new speedy delete request with a detailed explanation in the hope of getting rid of this page. When it is deleted I will follow up and move Category:Unit display/tests. -- PatLeahy (talk) 06:42, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

- Good work! I left a note at Category:Unit display/doc supporting what you had said, and it seemed to do the trick. It'll be great if you can do Category:Unit display/tests too. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs)

Thanks for your suggestion, Pat :) As it stands, both Mount Sugarloaf and Sugarloaf Mountain default directly to the same index. Doesn't matter to me which one is the redirect and which one is the actual page; if you think that one is better than the other, please go ahead and switch them, but please do make sure that the other redirects appropriately, that way folks don't get lost. Or are you referring to the mountain by that name in Franklin County, Massachusetts? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pgagnon999 (talk • contribs) 05:18, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Links to non-notable people
Pat, the honest answer is that it's a common practice. Otherwise, what's to stop all sorts of rubbish being added? (as happens regularly) So the test of indivuals being added is - are they notable. Then if they are notable, they'll have an article. The relevant policies are WP:NOTABLE and Wikipedia:Notability (people), but you could argue that it really applies to whole articles. I suppose the alternative is to support the listing with a citation. For example, somebody might be on the Louth senior football team but not really be important enough to qualify for an article in Wikipedia, but he might be mentioned in the Drogheda Tribune (or whatever it is). --Red King (talk) 01:43, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fifty Years of the Hogan Cup
Can you check the ISBN for Fifty Years of the Hogan Cup (2003) by Gerry Buckley? The ISBN you added to Hogan Cup is incorrect. Thanks, Patleahy 19:28, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry for delay, have been off-wiki for quite a while! I have checked the ISBN, and the one I entered is as of the back of the book (In front of me right now!). I do see this appears to clash with another entry, which while rare, isn't unknown. I also know that this book took me a while to track down, as I couldn't find it by title in any library entry, which may explain why the isbn number (which is supposed to be unique, isn't! I've added the isbn number back into the original article for reference, even though it clashes with another title, as it is indeed the number that appears on the back of the book (although I know you only have my word for that :) Regards, MartinRe (talk) 21:48, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
