There has been some further discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Caoilfhionn Nic Pháidín. You may want to take another look at the discussion and the article. TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 04:28, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Irish property bubble

I've done some major editing at the above page to try and get it in better shape. As there were a lot of changes, I tried to do them in bite sized chunks so the edit history should explain the reasoning. Regards, MartinRe 14:17, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sock Puppet Accustations

I'm a relative wikipedia novice, so even the concept of 'sock puppet' was new to me. However, I would like to say to you that I AM NOT "together&forever" (even though that log-in doesn't seem to exist) so PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE>

Thank YOU. --> 2yellowcards. 00.10 20 November 2006 (GMT)

Sock Puppet Accusations Without Evidence

You say "You share some of the contribution habits of this user, which is why I tagged you"

I'd suggest you look at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&limit=500&target=Together%26forever and then look at

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/2yellowcards

and tell me where we share contribution habits. For the record not only am I not from Letterkenny, I have never even been there. Similarly I've never heard of St. Eunan's College.

2yellowcards. 11.06 20 November 2006 (GMT)

Even a cursory glance tells me that the common thread between Candlewicke and Together&Forever is Donegal/Letterkenny & St. Eunan's College to which I have made no contribution to whatsoever. I suppose I feel that this was a case of you "biting the newcomer" and that maybe there was also an absence of the assumption of good faith.

At this stage i've wasted far too much of my time on this, however I think I've proved that I've nothing to do with it. 2yellowcards 13:24, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

  • On the contrary, you have proved nothing. Your knowledge of the above policies is atypical of a "newcomer" who has contributed towards handful of articles. I'll be keeping an eye on you. Pathlessdesert 14:01, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

In reality, I took the trouble AND the time to find out - hence the "far too much of my time". I have to say, making blanket accusations, without providing a reason (which you did not do on the first occasion) is hardly in keeping in the spirit of the above and suggesting that you'll be "keeping an eye on me" is both unnecessary & bullying. At this point I'm going to refrain from debating or discussing anything with you. I ask you to refrain from commenting on me unless you have a specific item that needs to be addressed. 2yellowcards 14:23, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hello

Thank you for your praise on the Hot Press article. I am glad to be of any assistance. But do you know anything about these Sock Puppet accusations? They seem to be flying around in a wildly unusual fashion, judging by the above user's writings. I have also been accused of Sock Puppetry and honestly do not know how this has come about. My only intentions are to improve older articles and create new ones wherever necessary and since this is the case I do not need multiple usernames. Indeed I am only now beginning to properly use the one I have even though I have been here for a while. But it seems I have been tagged as a Sock Puppeteer a little prematurely as I haven't even been given much of a chance to make an error. Do you know of anything I can do? --Candlewicke Consortiums Limited 00:21, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Yes, I know something about the sockpuppet accusations. See this page: Talk:St. Eunan's College, where User:TheBigDirtyBastard agrees that you are one of his sockpuppets. You should take it up with this editor if you are unhappy with the characterisation. I am sure that it will not be difficult for you to get hold of him! Pathlessdesert 10:35, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
But where am I mentioned on that page? --Candlewicke Consortiums Limited 14:51, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
(Aside: It is worth pointing out at this stage that the "praise on the Hot Press article" mentioned above by User:Candlewicke actually occurs on...

[edit] Sockpuppetry, continued ad nauseum...

Sock puppet
Sock puppet
as an aside i had no idea what you were talking about when you said "welcome back" 2yellowcards 18:50, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, you have to admit that this looks suspicious. Since I have never made any comment about the activities of this particular account on the Hot Press (magazine) article, only two possible conclusions can be drawn from this:

1. You are not a sockpuppet, but Candlewicke is trying to imply that he cannot keep track of his accounts and that you are one of his sockpuppets

2. You are, in fact, one of this editor's sockpuppets; this editor cannot keep track of his sockpuppet accounts

If the former is true, I suggest that you attempt to find out why this editor is trying to mark you as one of his sockpuppets. Pathlessdesert 23:50, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

  • I would like to add (for the benefit of Together&forever) that I have no strong interest in pursuing this issue. If you stopped flouting WP:SOCK as a means of avoiding scrutiny from other editors then there would not be an issue. Stick to one account and there will be no further mention of it. Currently, you are breaching the rules of Wikipedia on a constant basis.

Pathlessdesert 00:17, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

to be honest, i feel i've been dragged in to someone else's row. Again you use statements like "YOU" when apart from the fact that Candlewicke edited ONE of the same pages that I did, there's nothing to tie me to him/her/together&forever . From my end it feel's a bit like "Do you beat your wife". No matter how I respond there's no right answer for you. 2yellowcards 00:40, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

If you read carefully, you will find that it is clear at all times to which account the second-person pronoun refers. At the moment, what ties you strongly to Candlewicke is his/her (although I find it difficult to believe that the user is not a male) apparent inability to distinguish between your talk page and his. See above for the two possible explanations for this. Again, if the former is the case, I urge you (2yellowcards) to find out why the user would behave so maliciously. If the latter is the case, I would urge you to come out of the shadows and stop this business once and for all. By the way, where does the "Do you beat your wife" question come from? Is it a question that you have ever been asked? Why do you think that there is "no right answer" to this question? Pathlessdesert 00:50, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

"How often do you beat your wife?" Just by asking the question there's an assumption that someone beats their wife. You ask "am I a sockpuppet", yet if I say NO, you go "well you would say that". I can't control what a 3rd party does or say, or how they interpret something, if I am entirely unconnected to them. 2yellowcards 13:19, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

  • I think that it is about time that you(2yellowcards) made good on your threat made some time ago: "At this point I'm going to refrain from debating or discussing anything with you." I am not sure why you requested that Candlewicke confirm that he has nothing to do with you: this user is a liar and sockpuppet. I have made no attempt to return the sockpuppet tag to your page. So why do you keep this up?

If you really want to prove that you have nothing to do with this user, I would suggest that you proceed by making good edits that improve Wikipedia. Then, your record will speak for itself. You should also avoid obnoxious, bad faith, tiresome and prolonged exchanges with other editors like these:

Talk:Letterkenny

Talk:St. Eunan's College

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Courtyard

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Letterkenny Shopping Centre

Pathlessdesert 22:43, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

"I ask you to refrain from commenting on me unless you have a specific item that needs to be addressed." it was only when you went to another editor suggesting that I was a sockpuppet that I re-engaged. Similarly you said " Again, if the former is the case, I urge you (2yellowcards) to find out why the user would behave so maliciously." The only way i can have any influence on a 3rd party is by asking them politely to back up my statement; you of course may say that has no validity because they are a liar. Fair enough, but what else can I do. "You should also avoid obnoxious, bad faith, tiresome and prolonged exchanges with other editors like ...." For the length of this intercourse I apologise. It's a weakness of the medium that rather then having a straightforward phone conversation there's the capacity to dissect and reinterpret everything that goes on. Again, I would also point out that, as a relative newcomer, I did feel bullied and hectored. I did feel your tone meandered between being condescending & aggressive and it was not something I enjoyed. However, I may have been hypersensitive in this regard.

Ok; at this stage i've talked myself out. Thanks for listening. 2yellowcards 23:03, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. Pathlessdesert 23:04, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
