I have an interest in astronomy, science fiction, and cosmology. I have a Star Wars wikia accounts on SW Fanon and Wookiepedia, under the name Finnsmark. The following will be cool things in space.

Nebulae are the primordial state of a new cluster of stars and planets. Usually made up of Hydrogen gas, they give birth to stars, planets, life, and civilization. They also have great beauty.

[edit] Extrasolar Planets

Extrasolar planets are a fairly recent discovery. In 1991 three planets were found to be orbiting a dead pulsar. Since then, over 250 planets have been detected. Below, I will highlight some interesting systems.

55 Cancri b, c, d, and e
55 Cancri b, c, d, and e

This 5 planet star system is the only one like it. No other 5 planet systems have been detected so far outside our Solar System. It has a Jupiter-like world in a Jupiter-like orbit, 3 water cloud jovians, and 1 lava planet. It was also, in the GI Joe Continuum, where the FSS Oslo recieved a distess call from the North American Offensive to intervene with their phasers in GI Joe VIII.

Had it not been the first extrasolar planet discovered around a sunlike star, 51 Pegasi b would be an insignificant Hot Jovian planet - but it wasn't. The discovery of a gas giant inside the orbit of Mercury sent shockwaves throughout the astronomical community. Planet formation theories had to be revised. Since this important discovery, over 270 extrasolar planets have been found.

[edit] Gliese 581

Gliese 581 is an interesting star system. The most interesting fact about this system is Gliese 581 c, a probable Terrestrial planet within the Habitable zone for Earth-based life. Whether it is actually habitable depends on the amount of Carbon dioxide in it's atmosphere. If it has a lot, it will resemble Venus. If it has little, it will freeze and be an ice planet. In between, it may resemble Earth, although that depends on the amount of Water on the planet, and whether there is enough Nitrogen and Oxygen in the atmosphere.

I have the program by the name of Celestia on my computer, and I also make addons for it myself. My addons have included planets around Alpha Centauri B, Proxima, and whole star systems by the names of Apoda, Kronos, Lupus, and Volantis.

[edit] GI Joe Continuum

I make home movies of GI Joes having adventures. The movies and various episodes generally focus on the Pat Squadron, a group of 5 men who are loosely affiliated with a secret agency called Finnsmark. Finnsmark is based in Oulu, Finland, and has ties to Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin. Finnsmark also has a nemesis, the German Spy Network. The GSN was formed in 1946 by ex-nazis to montor and, to some extent, control the development of the postwar reich.

The two agencies engaged in a war over control of the Arctic in 1982. It was fought mainly with submarines and spies. The reason the rest of the world knew nothing of it was that they assumed the submarines and men were Soviet. The war ended indecisively after the Battle of Novaya Zemlya in 1982. Since that time, they have had an awkward alliance.

The two agencies have battled the Fourth Reich, Plutonium Brigade, alien Barnardan invasions, and Renegade Russians, just to name a few. In the wake of the First Renegade Russian War in 2010, Finnsmark resolved to launch missions to explore deep space. With the development of warp drive in late 2007, and help from the Alphoids in manufacturing antimatter reators, the FSS Oslo was launched on November 2, 2011 on a mission to explore deep space. Included in it's compliment were the Pat Squadron, Captain Vazmarken, Commander Axel, and later a brilliant genius, Doctor Van Luten.
