I understand. Monetary only. Didn't catch that part because at the top it mentions medals and medallions. Challenge coins are considered to be in those category. But thanks for the polite heads up.
Yes, some other countries use Challenge Coins, however the only foreign language one I have seen is German. It isn't just for military either. Just most common in the military. JAYMEDINC 01:14, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
Hi Pat, I stumbled upon an entry titled "Numismatic" which read exactly like a dictionary definition of the term "numismatic value" and was bothered by it, so I added the definition of the term to the "Numismatism" page and redirected Numismatic to Numismatism. I didn't scrutinize the accuracy of the definition; I just knew that it was an improper entry on its own. All of which is to say, I didn't write the def and don't know anything about numismatism, I was just doing some housework.
So, as you are clearly invested in the Numismatism page, feel free to change or delete it as you see fit. Thanks for your interest in keeping everything quality (:
