[edit] Why advert tag

This article is clearly taken from the PAC's website.

Looks fine to me. None of this is on the website. Perhaps making suggestions regarding what to add would be more constructive than placing labels on it.JMMoore 17:13, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Notice

When I wrote the tag, it was 3 months ago... I still think the article has a problem, but I have very little knowledge of Political Action Committees. I also dislike Al Gore intensely (except on Futurama, that is) and am not really very well suited to edit articles about him or followers of him. But I will take a look at the grammar and the POV problems that this article has, since you have asked so nicely. V. Joe 17:56, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Original Article and it becomes reallly obvious why it got a {{advert}} tag

Patriots for Al Gore is a Federal PAC that began its work in January of 2004, to work to see Former Vice President Al Gore nominated at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. This was attempted via a letter writing campaign to superdelegates to the Democratic National Convention, after trying a write-in campaign in state primaries that allowed such write-ins. That effort had minimal success due to time constraints, budget, lack of participation due to limited outreach capacity, and the subsequent nomination of John Kerry at the Democratic National Convention in July of 2004. The PAC at its inception had the main goal of researching to find a constitutional remedy regarding Presidential elections in which the popular vote winner is not the electoral vote winner and the constitutional validity of the electoral vote. Due to certain factors such as lack of interest on the part of Congress, the PAC has ended that effort and is now totally committed to the vision of Al Gore regarding working to mitigate the climate crisis. Other areas of concern to the PAC are in advocating for social issues regarding the environment and civil liberties. The opinions and statements expressed by Patriots for Al Gore are in no way endorsed by or affiliated with the Honorable Albert Gore Jr., Patriots for Al Gore is a privately maintained grassroots organization funded by Americans dedicated to the vision of Albert Gore Jr., and in advocating for positive social change. Current Effort by Patriots for Al Gore: * Patriots For Al Gore UN Effort Announcement Patriots for Al Gore, a Federal PAC advocating for our environment, civil liberties and positive social change, requests that the United Nations establish the post of UN Global Environmental Ambassador, and to consider our recommendation that the Honorable Al Gore Jr. be the first to serve in this post. Auburn, IL (PRWEB) October 6, 2006 -- Patriots for Al Gore, a Federal PAC advocating for our environment, civil liberties and positive social change, announces it’s effort to request that the United Nations establish the post of UN Global Environmental Ambassador, and to consider our recommendation that the Honorable Al Gore Jr. be the first to serve in this post. Patriots for Al Gore sees the urgency of the climate crisis, the repercussions of which are being felt in many parts of the world, predominantly Asia, Africa, Australia and the Arctic. We request the creation of a UN Global Environmental Ambassador post that would provide the leadership qualities and experience necessary to bring leaders together on a global scale regarding this issue. The right person in this post could inspire a global grassroots movement to bring about the visionary changes that will be necessary in the moral, spiritual, scientific, technological, political and economic spheres to effect the expedient changes that are necessary on a global scale in order to avoid reaching the tipping point that scientists have warned us about. We believe the best candidate for this position is the Honorable Al Gore Jr. whose knowledge, experience, conviction and inspiration regarding this issue are well established. Our effort will be ongoing and will consist of letter campaigns, petitions and other outreach efforts with the United Nations over the course of the next year. All interested in supporting this effort can fax and or write to the following: To fax the office of Public Inquiry at the UN: (212) 963-4475.
