[edit] Victor Z

Who is this person? Somebody with the requisite knowledge please add in who he is and why his consumption of this brand is notable. Dunne409 21:06, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

No idea, I removed Made popular by Victor Z., Victor consumes a bottle a day in order to promote the tequila., as an uncited statement. — xaosflux Talk 04:02, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Can you tell me the word Patron means. I heard that it translates to "Devil's Child" or "Child of a Devil." I only speak english, so i was just curious. I don't drink any type of Tequila though. Just wanted to know for trivia or common knowledge.

Patrón means translates to Boss.

[edit] Songs

I've removed this list from the article, as it is overshadowing the topic of the article without adding signfigantly. Below is the list, and I don't think this infomation should be in the article unless the notability of the drink has been signifgantly changes by one of these mentions. — xaosflux Talk 01:42, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

I just wanted to say that, while leaving the entire list intact would obviously be listcruft, at least two of the songs (preferably the two most noteworthy) should be mentioned in the article, because as it stands now it simply says that the drink is "mentioned in the lyrics of many songs", which is vague and lacks any citation... and really does nothing more than repeat the information already suggested in the "Songs" header. Also, a quick look at the list reveals that just saying that it's mentioned in the lyrics of "many songs" is too general, since nearly all of the songs below are rap/hip-hop, and that should also be mentioned in the article. - Ugliness Man 01:01, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Removing "in pop culture" section

I've tagged this article because of the section "Patrón#Pop culture allusions". Articles/sections based on trivia that isn't immediately relevant to the article don't really belong. Also, the section title of "pop culture" doesn't represent a worldwide view at all, I'd bet the popular culture in China, Morocco, etc has nothing to do with American rap, and the lyrics thereof, or tequila even. See the pages Wikipedia:"In popular culture" articles#"In popular culture" sections and Wikipedia:Trivia sections for guidelines as to why this shouldn't be here. I've seen that this used to be a list that was growing unneedlessly large, and that its growth has already been checked once. I would have just removed the whole section, but obtaining consensus would be nice first. -Mulder416 09:18, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
